Systolic blood pressure elevation in children with obstructive sleep apnea is improved with positive airway pressure use

DelRosso LM, et al. - During this trial, the impact of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) treatment on blood pressure (BP) was gauged by the experts, in children with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). In comparison with the habitual snorers, higher systolic BP was reported among children with OSA. Regardless of a small increase in their body mass index (BMI), treatment with CPAP in children with OSA for 6 months reduced their systolic BP.
