Systemic predictors of eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis
American Journal of Rhinology & Allergy Jun 20, 2018
Ho J, et al. - Experts gauged the relationship between biomarkers and eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis (eCRS) to assess the predictors of eCRS. They conducted a cross-sectional study of adult patients with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) undergoing endoscopic sinus surgery. Findings suggested an association of eCRS with elevated blood eosinophils (>0.24 × 109/L), eosinophil ratio (>4.27% of total WCC), and lower ESR when compared with non-eCRS. White cell count (WCC), C-reactive protein (CRP), Immunoglobulin E (IgE), or ImmunoCAP testing were not significantly associated.
