Systemic pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of intravitreal aflibercept, bevacizumab, and ranibizumab
Retina Oct 13, 2017
Avery RL, et al. - This study was initiated in order to gauge the systemic pharmacokinetics (PKs) of aflibercept, bevacizumab, and ranibizumab in patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic macular edema (DME), or retinal vein occlusion (RVO). The anti-VEGF therapies inspected herein illustrated substantial variations in the systemic PKs. A connection was reported between the reduction in plasma free-VEGF levels with elevated levels of circulating anti-VEGF agents, with the reduction in free-VEGF levels greatest with aflibercept and least with ranibizumab.
