Systemic immune-inflammation index predicts prognosis in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer: A retrospective study
Gynecologic Oncology Dec 20, 2018
Nie D, et al. - In this retrospective analysis involving 553 epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) patients, researchers assessed the prognostic value of the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII). This study included the discovery cohort, comprising 250 patients from West China Second University Hospital and the validation cohort including 283 patients from The Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University. They used Cox regression analyses and Kaplan-Meier method to assess the correlation between SII and survival. They assessed prediction accuracy with the receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve. SII was identified as an independent prognostic indicator for progression-free survival and overall survival in the discovery cohort and verified in the validation cohort. Findings demonstrated a correlation of high SII with poor survival in patients with EOC.
