Systemic and stratum corneum biomarkers of severity in infant AD include markers of innate and Th-related immunity and angiogenesis

British Journal of Dermatology Aug 28, 2018

McAleer MA, et al. - Authors evaluated the biomarkers obtainable from non-invasive sampling of infant skin. They compared these to plasma biomarkers and structural and functional measures of the skin barrier. Clinically relevant biomarkers of atopic dermatitis (AD), including novel markers, were identified, easily sampled and typed in infants. Objective assessment of disease severity may be provided by these markers. These markers suggest new therapeutic targets or response measurement targets for AD.
