Gove K, et al. - In view of the consideration of small airways disease (SAD) as pivotal in the pathology of COPD, a systematic review using Embase, Medline and Pubmed was performed to explore the relationship between physiological and Computed Tomography (CT) SAD measures in COPD (GOLD Stages 1–4). The authors identified that physiological and CT measures of SAD correlate and infer similar information. They suggested gaining valuable insight into clinical expression of the disease via physiological measures of SAD.
