Systematic review of depression and anxiety in psoriatic arthritis
International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases May 01, 2019
Kamalaraj N, et al. - In this systematic review, researchers, for the first time, studied the point prevalence of depression and anxiety in psoriatic arthritis and putative reductions in these comorbidities with the treatment of psoriatic arthritis. In patients with psoriatic arthritis, the depression prevalence ranged between 9%-22% and anxiety between 15%-30%. In patients with psoriatic arthritis, there is a moderate point prevalence of both depression and anxiety, which is comparable or slightly higher than the general population and comparable to other rheumatic diseases. The impacts on comorbid depression and anxiety of psoriatic arthritis treatment remain unclear.
