Systematic review/meta-analysis comparing successful outcomes after single vs double-stage laryngotracheal reconstruction

International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Evidence based | Mar 15, 2018

Padia R, et al. - This systematic review was conducted to compare operation-specific decannulation rates of single-stage (SSLTR) vs double-stage laryngotracheal reconstruction (DSLTR) when controlling for grade of airway stenosis. When comparing similar grades of stenosis, no difference in decannulation rates was seen between SSLTR and DSLTR except in grade 3 stenosis. In both the methods, the success rate declined with worsening stenosis.
