Garcia-Pachon E, Ruiz-Alcaraz S, Baeza-Martinez C, et al. - This study was carried out to assess the symptoms presented in patients with asthma who became infected with SARS-CoV-2. Researchers enrolled a total of 2,995 individuals over 14 years of age who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 (by RT-PCR). Although some patients may present wheezing, particularly in cases of pneumonia, SARS-CoV-2 infection is not a significant cause of asthma exacerbation. As per the findings, the severity of asthma does not appear to be correlated with symptoms of the disease.
