Symptomatic course of foot osteoarthritis phenotypes: An 18-month prospective analysis of community-dwelling older adults
Arthritis Care & Research Jun 07, 2018
Downes TJ, et al. - Authors studied the symptomatic course of three predefined foot osteoarthritis (OA) phenotypes over an 18-month period. Experts compared the changes in descriptive and symptomatic outcomes over 18 months across the three phenotypes to ascertain within-phenotype changes and between-phenotype differences. Participants reporting foot pain in a mailed health survey who also had a radiographic assessment were mailed an 18?month follow-up survey. Over 18 months, few descriptive or symptomatic changes were demonstrated by 3 foot OA phenotypes. Findings suggested a likeness that the people recruited with mild-to-moderate symptomatic foot OA would remain relatively stable with usual care.
