Harnod T, et al. - Experts evaluated whether or not the patients with migraine have an increased mortality risk in Taiwan. Comprehensive and universal medical care is required by Taiwanese patients with migraine. Controlling their migraines and reducing the subsequent mortality would benefit these patients. The risk factors for subsequent mortality were SM, male sex, comorbid alcohol-related illness, depression, and mental disorders. The mortality risk in patients with migraine was significantly increased with comorbid alcohol-related illness.
