Survival in adults and children with systemic lupus erythematosus: A systematic review and Bayesian meta-analysis of studies from 1950 to 2016

Tektonidou MG, et al. - This study was implemented to analyze the survival trends in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients, including adult and children, from 1950 to the present. Findings reported that following a period of major improvement, survival in SLE has plateaued since the mid-1990s. In addition, in both adults and children residing in high-income countries, 5-year survival exceeds 0.95, whereas, in lower 5-year and 10-year survival was reported among children, compared with adults, in low/middle-income countries.
