Survival benefit of transarterial chemoembolization in patients with metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma: A single center experience
BMC Gastroenterology Aug 16, 2017
Bettinger D, et al. – The authors retrospectively examined the efficacy of transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) and its effect on overall survival (OS) in patients with metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Treatment of an intrahepatic tumor by TACE could be correlated with improved survival in metastatic HCC. Even in patients with metastatic disease, these results supported the prognostic importance of treating intrahepatic HCC. Hence, they proposed evaluating the technical feasibility of TACE in all metastatic patients.
