Annals of Surgical Oncology May 11, 2019
Bonvalot S, et al. - Researchers examined how initial surgery for primary nonmetastatic primary retroperitoneal sarcoma (RPS) performed within the NetSarc network [a network of 26 reference sarcoma center with specialized multidisciplinary tumor boards that is funded by the French NCI] influence overall survival (OS). They included 2945 patients in this study: the first surgery on 1078 patients (36.6%) was undertaken in a NetSarc center (NSC), and 1867 (63.4%) in an out-of-network center. Outcomes revealed a better OS in correlation to surgery for primary RPS within an NSC.
