International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases Feb 01, 2021
Jang SY, et al. - Researchers appraised newly diagnosed Takayasu's arteritis (TAK) data (N = 2,731) obtained from the National Health Insurance Service with the aim to ascertain the survival rate (SR) and causes of death for TAK. Mean age of the patients was 48.1 (±16.9) years and female patients comprised 74.4% of the patients. Findings revealed the overall 10‐year SR of nearly 85%. Relative to females, males exhibited lower 10‐year SR. Diseases of the circulatory system were identified to be the most common cause of death in TAK.
