Survival analysis of distant metastasis of laryngeal carcinoma: Analysis based on SEER database
European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology Dec 15, 2018
Pan Y, et al. - Researchers gauged the prognostic factors and the value of surgical treatment of patients with newly diagnosed laryngeal cancer with distant metastasis (DM). They used the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Result database (SEER) to analyze 446 patients with laryngeal cancer with DM at the time of initial diagnosis from 2010 to 2014. The prognostic factors for patients with M1 stage laryngeal cancer are T stage, brain metastasis and surgical treatment. For patients, better survival can be led by surgical treatment of primary tumors and metastases.
