Surgically positioned paravertebral catheter for analgesia after retroperitoneal aortic aneurysm repair

Jessula S, et al. – Researchers planned this study to describe the feasibility and efficacy of surgically positioned paravertebral catheters for postoperative analgesia after retroperitoneal abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair. They concluded that retroperitoneal AAA repair granted unique access to the paravertebral space. Surgically positioned paravertebral catheters were feasible and an effective postoperative analgesia adjunct with minimal adverse effects.
