Surgical treatment of scapular fractures: results and complications
Injury Sep 24, 2020
Vidovic D, Bencic I, Cuti T, et al. - In this study, a surgical technique and report on patient-based functional outcomes and complications following open reduction and internal fixation were described in patients with scapular fractures. Between September 2010 and July 2018, researchers included a total of 14 individuals who were treated with open reduction and internal fixation of scapular fractures. They categorized fractures according to the revised classification system. The Constant-Murley scores were applied to assess functional outcomes. This study's findings demonstrate that open reduction and internal fixation of displaced scapular fractures were found to be a safe, reliable, and effective treatment option that results in a reliable union rate and good-to-excellent functional outcome.
