Surgical treatment for chronic postoperative inguinal pain – Short term outcomes of a specialized center
American Journal of Surgery Oct 21, 2019
Fafaj A, Tastaldi L, Alkhatib H, et al. - The short-term outcomes of surgical treatment for chronic inguinodynia are discussed. Researchers referred to the prospectively maintained database at their institution and identified 29 patients who underwent surgical treatment for chronic groin pain. They identified chronic groin pain as a complex problem that has no universal solution. Following the operation, 55% of the patients were pain free or almost pain free and 93% stated they would undergo the same operation again. Outcomes from the study population suggest that a significant decrease in short-term pain scores could be achieved with surgical treatment.
