Heart, Lung, and Circulation Apr 29, 2019
Ma K, et al. - In this retrospective study, researchers examined 85 consecutive patients with congenitally corrected transposed great arteries who underwent anatomical repair, to determine the outcomes of these subjects. They also intended to better understand the indications for different procedures in these cases. They found that anatomical repair of corrected transposition could result in favourable outcomes. A significant postoperative issue was left ventricular dysfunction. In cases with associated left ventricular outflow tract obstruction and cardiac malposition, a beneficial outcome could be achieved with Hemi-Mustard-bidirectional Glenn-Rastelli procedure. In varied anatomy, each procedure carries its own benefits.
