Ogando AR, et al. - In this series of preterm infants with percutaneous patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) closure vs surgical ligation in the same time-period, the researchers compared respiratory status prior and post ductal closure and morbi-mortality. Among carefully selected low-weight preterm infants, percutaneous closure of PDA was a safe and reliable alternative to surgical ligation.
