American Journal of Otolaryngology May 28, 2018
Ribeiro J, et al. - Researchers evaluated the parents' perspective concerning the children's clinical picture before and after supraglottoplasty for the treatment of laryngomalacia (LM). They conducted a retrospective study in 110 children diagnosed with LM followed at the Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology outpatient clinics of S. João Hospital Center, between 2008 and 2016. A strong negative impact of LM was seen on family dynamics and functioning in severe cases. A safe and effective treatment option in selected cases could be supraglottoplasty which was related to a high degree of parental satisfaction.
