Supervised exercise training as an adjunct therapy for venous leg ulcers: A randomized controlled feasibility trial
British Journal of Dermatology May 24, 2018
Klonizakis M, et al. - Experts performed a supervised exercise training in people in the U.K. who were being treated with compression for a venous leg ulcer. They randomly allocated the participants to receive usual care, or usual care plus a 12-week supervised exercise programme. Findings did not suggest any severe adverse events (unwanted side effects). For the exercise group, the average ulcer healing time was shorter: 13 vs 35 weeks. In people being treated with compression for a venous leg ulcer, the feasibility of supervised exercise training was suggested.
