Superior hypogastric plexus block to reduce pain after laparoscopic hysterectomy: A randomized controlled trial
Obstetrics and Gynecology Apr 02, 2021
Clark NV, Moore K, Maghsoudlou P, et al. - This multicenter, randomized, single-blind, controlled trial was conducted to determine if a decrease in postoperative pain can be achieved by performing a superior hypogastric plexus block during laparoscopic hysterectomy. Participants were females receiving a laparoscopic hysterectomy for any indication and with any other concomitant laparoscopic procedure. Findings revealed that no significant reduction in postoperative pain was conferred by superior hypogastric plexus block in patients receiving laparoscopic hysterectomy with standardized enhanced perioperative recovery pathways.
