Ermutlu G, et al. - This paper focused on the effectivenesses of the different application routes of steroids in the treatment of sudden hearing loss (SSHL). Accumulated evidence suggested that intratympanic steroid therapy was an alternative to systemic steroid therapy in the initial treatment of sudden hearing loss. Moreover, for delivering steroids into the inner ear, the transtympanic technique was an easy to perform and safe method.
