Subtraction CT angiography improves evaluation of significant coronary artery disease in patients with severe calcifications or stents—The C-Sub 320 multicenter trial
European Radiology Sep 07, 2018
Fuchs A, et al. - For this study, researchers assessed in patients with severe coronary calcification or stents if subtraction coronary CT angiography (CCTAsub) decreases the amount of false-positive stenosis evaluations vs conventional coronary CT angiography (CCTAconv). For this investigation, researchers prospectively enrolled 180 symptomatic patients scheduled for invasive coronary angiography (ICA) and a CT scan (2013-2016) at three international centers. CCTAsub reduces the false-positive rate in well-aligned, calcified or stent segments thought to have significant stenosis on CCTAconv in severely calcified coronary arteries or stents. Findings revealed that misregistration artifacts were frequent in CCTAsub.
