Subjective perception of trifocal IOL performance, including toric models
Clinical Ophthalmology Oct 09, 2019
Hamdi IM - In this prospective observational study, the researcher analyzed the patients’ perception of trifocal IOL (Panoptix™) performance. Sixty eyes of 35 patient undergoing phacoemulsification with trifocal IOL (Panoptix) implantation were included. Refractive results (sphere – S, cylinder – Cyl and spherical equivalent – SE, all in D) and visual (distance uncorrected – VAsc, distance corrected – VAcc, intermediate – IntVA, near uncorrected – NVAsc and distance corrected near – NVAcc, all in LogMAR) have been recorded. According to findings, trifocal IOL resulted in a very high level of satisfaction as perceived by patients. Diverse visual activities reflect this satisfaction. Regardless of gender, IOL model or even unilateral implantation, this level is achieved. It is also done independently of patient age or preoperative eye status.
