Stroke and dementia risk: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Alzheimer's & Dementia Sep 07, 2018
Kuzma E, et al. - This is the first meta-analysis investigating the link between stroke and all-cause dementia risk. Via a search of Medline, PsycINFO, and Embase, 36 studies of prevalent stroke (1.9 million participants) and 12 studies of incident stroke (1.3 million participants) were identified in this analysis. The results of this systematic review and meta-analysis indicate that, for all-cause dementia, stroke is a strong, independent, and a potentially modifiable risk factor.
