Stereotactic radiosurgery of early melanoma brain metastases after initiation of anti-CTL-4 treatment is associated with improved intracranial control

An Y, et al. - In order to figure out whether stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) of early melanoma brain metastases after initiation of anti-CTL-4 treatment was associated with improved intracranial control, this multi-institutional study was carried out. Results revealed better intracranial disease control in patients who received SRS for new brain metastases within 5.5 months after ipilimumab therapy than those who received SRS later. This study highlighted an association between higher circulating lymphocyte count and improved intracranial disease control.
