Statin use during hospitalization and short-term mortality in acute ischaemic stroke with chronic kidney disease
European Neurology Jun 04, 2018
Zhang X, et al. - The impact of statin use in reducing short-term mortality of patients with ischemic stroke and chronic kidney disease (CKD) during hospitalization was investigated. From the China National Stroke Registry, data of first-ever ischemic stroke patients with no history of pre-stroke statin treatment was analyzed. They used multivariate logistic regression analysis to assess the relationship between statin use during hospitalization and all-cause mortality with different renal functions at 3-month follow-up. It was observed that statin use during hospitalization was linked with decreased 3-month mortality of ischemic stroke patients with mild and moderate CKD.
