Statin use and the risk of ovarian and endometrial cancers: A meta-analysis
BMC Cancer Aug 01, 2019
Wang Y, et al. - In this meta-analysis of 19 studies including 1,999,362 female patients, researchers assessed the risk of ovarian and endometrial cancers in relation to statin use. The included studies were identified from the PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases, and were original comparative studies published in English. Overall, 7,948 ovarian cancer cases and 11,901 endometrial cancer cases were identified. According to the findings, no reduction in the risk of ovarian cancer or endometrial cancer was reported in relation to statin use, and this remained true even when statins were used long-term (> 5 years).
