Statin use and mortality in gout: A general population-based cohort study

Keller SF, et al. - In this cohort study, experts examined the potential survival benefit of statin use among subjects suffering from gout in the general population. They noted that the statin use was related to a lower risk of mortality in gout, potentially it demonstrated more benefits in those who did not have a prior circulatory disease. Premature mortality in gout could be substantially improved with the proper use of statins.
