Statin use and mortality among endometrial cancer patients: A Danish nationwide cohort study
International Journal of Cancer Nov 20, 2018
Sperling CD, et al. - In this Danish nationwide cohort study, researchers studied the impact of statin use on endometrial cancer mortality. They identified all women in Denmark between the ages of 30 and 84 with primary endometrial cancer between 2000 and 2012 from the Danish Cancer Registry. An inverse association was noted between time-varying postdiagnosis statin use (≥2 prescriptions) and endometrial cancer mortality vs non-use (<2 prescriptions). The associations were not significantly different by the intensity or cumulative amount of the use of the statin. The study findings suggested that the use of statin in endometrial cancer patients might be associated with improved survival.
