Han N, et al. - The authors inspected the preventive effects of statin therapy on major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in patients treated with tacrolimus-based immunosuppression after kidney transplantation (KT) and strived to determine the risk factors. The risk of MACE was substantially lowered through the statin therapy in patients treated with tacrolimus after KT. Long-term statin therapy was recommended in older kidney transplant recipients for secondary prevention.
