Stage II oral tongue cancer: Survival impact of adjuvant radiation based on depth of invasion
Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Jun 30, 2018
Rubin SJ, et al. - Authors assessed whether overall survival is impacted by adjuvant radiation therapy for patients with pT2N0 oral cavity tongue cancer. They extracted the cases diagnosed between 2004 and 2013 with pathologic stage pT2N0 oral cavity tongue cancer with negative surgical margins from the National Cancer Database. Regardless of the depth of tumor invasion, findings did not suggest an overall survival benefit for patients who received postoperative radiation therapy vs surgery alone for pT2N0 oral cavity tongue cancer.
