Fukushima M, et al. - Researchers conducted this investigation to determine the stability of endolymphatic hydrops (EH) in Ménière disease (MD) shown by 3-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging during and after vertigo attacks. According to findings, postmortem histopathologic analysis of MD patients showed EH. It is thought that the swollen membranous labyrinth rupture with gradually increasing EH. This rupture theory is based on histological findings of acute vertiginous episodes.
