Spleen and splenic vascular involvement in acute pancreatitis: An MRI study
Quantitative Imaging in Medicine and Surgery May 03, 2018
Xie CL, et al. - Using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), authors attempted to inspect the spleen and splenic vascular involvement in acute pancreatitis (AP) and their correlations with the severity of AP. It was deduced that splenic vascular involvement and splenomegaly were common in AP. The vascular involvement exhibited a connection with the severity of AP, which ought to be taken into account while analyzing the severity and prognosis of AP. Findings demonstrated that the quantitative analysis of the spleen with intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) could serve as a useful imaging biomarker for splenic perfusion changes in AP, particularly among the individuals with splenomegaly.
