Kattan M, et al. - Herein, the acceptability of spirometry and impulse oscillometry (IOS) in 3- to 5-year-old children was compared and the relationship of maternal smoking during pregnancy to later lung function was scrutinized. With spirometry vs IOS, a higher rate of acceptable maneuvers was reported. However, IOS may be a better indicator of peripheral airway function in preschool children.
