Paquin ME, et al. - This study incorporated the quantification of cervical spinal gray matter atrophy in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Researchers also probed into its correlation with the clinical disability at baseline and after 1 year. Findings revealed the potential use of gray matter cross-sectional areas as an MR imaging structural biomarker for the monitoring of the evolution of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, despite modest improvements over the spinal cord cross-sectional areas.
