Specialist services in early diagnosis and support for older people with dementia in England: Staff roles and service mix
International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry Jun 27, 2018
Ahmed S, et al. - The roles and tasks given to staff in Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) and memory clinics within a framework determined by local Clinical Commissioning Groups were investigated. Researchers collected data in England in 2015 using a cross-sectional survey design. Analysis revealed variations in the staff mix in CMHTs and memory clinics reflecting their different functions. In both profession-specific interventions, they noted limited evidence relating to the provision of support, information, therapy, and education, associated with either diagnosis or long-term support.
