Sophrology vs resistance training for treatment women with fibromyalgia: A randomized controlled trial

de Almeida Silva HJ, et al. - Researchers sought to compare the effectiveness of sophrology and resistance training in improving the pain of women with fibromyalgia. For this work, they randomized women with a medical diagnosis of fibromyalgia in two groups: sophrology group (SG) who participated in a relaxation program based on sophrology, and resistance group (RG) who participated in a resistance training program for biceps, pectoral, triceps, knee extensors, trapezius, knee flexors, hip abductors. Findings revealed no differences between the groups in terms of pain. Compared to sophrology, resistance training proved more effective in improving strength and functional capacity of these women.
