Sofosbuvir and ledipasvir is associated with high sustained virologic response and improvement of health-related quality of life in East Asian patients with hepatitis C virus infection
Journal of Viral Hepatitis Jul 13, 2018
Younossi ZM, et al. - In view of the underrepresentation of East Asian patients with hepatitis C Virus infection despite a high prevalence of the infection, HRQL in East Asian HCV patients treated with different anti-HCV regimens was assessed. Findings revealed improvement in the HRQL from baseline after treatment with ledipasvir and sofosbuvir (LDV/SOF) but not with pegylated interferon, and ribavirin (Peg-IFN+RBV)-containing or Peg-IFN-free RBV-containing regimens. The use of Peg-IFN led to an HRQL impairment that persisted even after achieving sustained virologic clearance.
