SOFA score can effectively predict the incidence of sepsis and 30-day mortality in liver transplant patients: A retrospective study

Advances in Therapy Feb 09, 2019

Wang XW, et al. - Using sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA), researchers assessed the early predictive value for postoperative sepsis and 30-day mortality in liver transplant patients. From February 2015 to June 2018, a total of 96 patients with liver transplant were enlisted. Between patients with SOFA scores of > 5 and patients with SOFA scores of ≤ 5 at postoperative day (POD) 1–7, the difference in 30-day survival rate was statistically significant. According to this retrospective Study, SOFA scores at POD 1–7 could effectively predict the incidence of sepsis and 30-day mortality in patients with liver transplant based on C-reactive protein and procalcitonin.
