Wu J, Yu X, Ping X, et al. - Global, national, and regional DALY data of glaucoma by year, age, and gender were obtained from the Global Health Data Exchange in order to evaluate the global burden of glaucoma by year, age, gender, regions, socioeconomic development, and mean years of schooling (MYS) by using DALY, then to examine the health disparity with socioeconomic status in glaucoma. With population growth and aging, it was noted that the global burden of glaucoma was rising and the elderly age, lower socioeconomic status, and lower MYS were related to greater glaucoma burden. Thus, results aid to gain a superior understanding of glaucoma and guide prospective health policies made for the public.
