Social inequality and fractures—secular trends in the Danish population: A case-control study

Osteoporosis International Jun 29, 2018

Hansen L, et al. - Authors evaluated if the risk of hip, humerus, and wrist fracture was related to the markers of inequality using data from Danish health registries. Social inequality, evaluated using income, marital status, and area of residence was seen to have an important stable relationship with the fracture at the population level. These data served as a guide to healthcare and suggested to give much thought to novel interventions aimed especially at those living alone, and ideally societal measures to reduce social inequality.
