Smad7 in psoriasis vulgaris patients: A clinical and immunohistochemical study

Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Apr 23, 2020

Hemida AS, Hammam MA, Salman ATA, et al. - Researchers conducted this clinical and immunohistochemical study to analyze Smad7 expression in patients with psoriasis vulgaris in comparison with normal skin. Thirty patients with psoriasis vulgaris in comparison with 20 age‐ and sex‐matched seemingly healthy individuals have been chosen. According to results, Smad7 expression exhibited a positive significant association with psoriasis severity. In patients with psoriasis vulgaris, Smad7 may be involved in increased keratinocyte proliferation and skin inflammation.
