Sleep, quality of life, and depression in endometrial cancer survivors with obesity seeking weight loss
Supportive Care in Cancer Sep 05, 2019
Nock NL, Dimitropoulos A, Zanotti KM, et al. - Researchers determined how higher levels of obesity (Class III, BMI ≥ 40 kg/m2) influence sleep, depression, and quality of life in 100 stage I endometrial cancer survivors with obesity. The survivors were seeking weight loss and were enrolled in a lifestyle intervention (NCT01870947) at baseline. Endometrial cancer survivors with class III vs class I obesity exhibited poorer sleep quality, higher depression, and lower quality of life. The investigators observed rising rates of obesity and uterine cancer mortality, which emphasize the necessity for interventions to combat both obesity and poor sleep.
