Sleep quality and covariates as predictors of pain intensity among the general population in rural China
Journal of Pain Research May 04, 2018
Liu XK, et al. - Among rural Chinese people, researchers examined the distribution of sleep quality and its association with the incidence of pain. In addition, they ascertained the association between sleep quality and pain intensity among the general population in real-life settings. The participants reported increased pain intensity in association with poor sleep quality. The present data supports the previous research suggesting that better sleep quality could significantly lessen pain intensity in the general population. Findings suggest a bidirectional relationship between sleep and pain. In addition, addressing treatment for sleep disorders and insomnia has a place in alleviating pain intensity.
