Sleep disturbance and the risk of cognitive decline or clinical conversion in the ADNI Cohort
Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders Jun 14, 2018
Mecca AP, et al. - Researchers explored the link between sleep disturbance and cognitive decline or clinical conversion in people with normal cognition (CN), as well as those with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia due to Alzheimer disease (AD-dementia). It was noted that sleep disturbance was not linked with the decline in memory, executive function, or global cognition, nor did it significantly increase the risk of diagnostic conversion in CN, early MCI, or late MCI participants. Study results did not support the theory that sleep disturbance predicted a subsequent cognitive decline.
