Carriere C, et al. - A characterization was conducted of the respiratory and non-respiratory sleep disorders in obese children. Researchers also intended to examine the diagnostic and therapeutic impact of a specific sleep consultation. The findings disclosed that sleep disorders in obese children were not limited to respiratory sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS). It was illustrated that systematic specific consultation with a sleep specialist was crucial for the diagnosis and care of such children. When treating paediatric obesity, it would prove to be beneficial.
